I would highly recommend this website which highlights an age old question, how effective is photography at changing anything? Is there a valid reason to take pictures of another's suffering and what would happen if we didn't, would the absence of images be as eloquent as the images of those that are missing? This thought provoking exhibition (and accompanying website Imaging Famine) is a must for anyone studying photography. Although the exhibition has now emended the website is still live. I have spoken to the exhibition organisers who are trying to get the exhibition transferred to Bolton University where we will be invited to view the work.

There is a great deal of photography from students on other courses across the UK which may give you an insight into what is around at the moment. You can also upload your own images. It also has student work in many other fields. This is a site which is aimed at new up and coming fashion photographers who want to collaborate with other professionals in building their portfolios. Galleries A specialist photographic gallery in the just off Oxford Street New arts venue in Newcastle Not such a well known gallery but they do have some impressive shows Gallery and cinema in Manchester close to the Oxford Rd station Liverpool gallery An excellent gallery just off Regent Street which has had some excellent work in the past. An oddly named but excellent art gallery. Photo gallery in the heart of Mayfair A popular large venue for international artists. Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) Popular contemporary gallery in The Mall Large ever changing gallery which has had some excellent exhibitions in the new wing National Museum of Photography, Film & Television Well known centre for film and photography in Bradford, watch out for their educational talks and seminars from well known practitioners This is a general photographic site with links to a number of other useful photographic sites.
